This talks about racism, prejudice, organized crime, murder, the South Italian economy, and annoying fangirls in the Hetalia fandom. This talks about some of the things that are seriously wrong with the Hetalia fandom through the lens of one particular character. Failing to do research and turning the anthropomorphic personifications of entire nations with interesting and diverse cultures into one-dimensional characters for the purposes of fangirling and/or shipping can and does apply to every single character in this fandom.

 You can read it and be offended. You can send me anon hate. Fans of Romano/S. Italy probably know most of this already. It’s the people who hate him without knowing his history and/or don’t know how problematic they sound when they talk about South Italy without doing a teensy bit of research who should read this.
